And Iggy Azalea has credited her latest music video for new single Mo Bounce for maintaining her hourglass figure, revealing that constant twerking kicked her body into shape.
The 26-year-old told Nova 9.69's Fitzy & Wippa on Thursday that the energetic butt shaking saw her lose more than six kilos in one week.
'It's a lot - I went on a meal plan before the video because I knew I would have to be dancing fairly skimply dressed,' Iggy told the radio hosts.
'I did a lot of rehearsals actually, and man I lost 15 pounds (6.8 kilos) in a week dancing to that song!'
While the Fancy rapper says that being a good twerker comes down to natural rhythm, she did have a teacher.
'It just has to come naturally-you either have it or you don't,' Iggy told Fitzy and Wippa.
'But I did get help, I did take classes, I do have someone who is very very good at twerking and she helped me.'
The Aussie-born rapper also revealed that twerking meant she needed to exercise her body in unusual ways.
'I never realised how flexible you have to be do to that stuff, and [my teacher] was like ''I really suggest you take yoga''... I didn't know you had to take yoga to be a twerker but apparently you do,' Iggy said.
Iggy said she would like to organise an Australian tour when her forthcoming album Digital Distortion is released later this year.
'We are talking about doing a tour in Australia, because I haven't actually had my own tour out here except when I opened for Beyonce,' she said.
Iggy is currently promoting her new record in New Zealand and hasn't been shy about showing off her twerking skills, sharing a video with her Instagram followers on Tuesday.
