Alene and Simon were still every bit as loved up during an appearance on Tuesday morning's Today show, months after the episode final was filmed.
The couple gushed about how their romance had managed to succeed despite cultural differences, with Simon also defending Anthony's treatment of Nadia as nothing 'intentional'.
Simon and Alene revealed that it had been hard for them to overcome ethnic differences - with the Sydney nurse from a Lebanese family while Simon is a self-described 'ocker' Aussie.
'Look, I came to this experiment and I thought it's an opportunity, I want to give it all I've got. I got to know Simon and I knew he had so much potential,' Alene explained.
'This is why I was like "I'm not going to give up, I'm going to keep on trying", and look at the end it worked.'
Simon joked that his previous issues with severe epilepsy meant that Alene's chosen profession made the couple a perfect fit.
'I had a couple of issues along the way, health and stuff that knocked me flying. It helped that she was a nurse as well!' He said.
Despite other MAFS contestants complaining about scenes being heavily edited or having lines fed to them by producers, Alene said she 'would not change it for a thing'.
'It was challenging at times,' she explained. 'But it was worth it at the end. I actually did enjoy it. Yes, there were times where I was like "oh my God, this is getting too hard".'
Today host Lisa Wilkinson brought up the fact that while Alene and Simon had found love with each other, Anthony and Nadia had not been so lucky.
On Monday, the Brisbane-based flight attendant had revealed the 'brutal' way Anthony had cut contact with her just 24 hours after filming ended.
But Simon refused to knock the couple on breakfast television, explaining 'if it's not meant to be it simply wasn't meant to be'.
'You don't think Anthony broke Nadia's heart?' Lisa asked.
'I don't think he did anything intentionally ... I have to admit I don't know the full story and that's none of my business at the end of the day.'
But Lisa, who has made no secret of her dislike of Anthony in the past, countered that the sports broadcaster's treatment of Nadia was 'our business when it's on reality TV'.
'Because we are all invested. Particularly for young girls who are watching how relationships are conducted, it's kind of important that they learn lessons of what to do and what not to do and what to be careful of,' Lisa said.
'I think as far as be male or female, trust your gut feeling as well,' Simon said.
'Don't be led down the garden path as well. Just feel like you've got to settle. Nadia put her two bob's worth in at the end as well and put her feelings out there as well. Obviously it wasn't meant to be.'
